The much-awaited onset of the rainy season took a devastating turn for residents of Gwarandok and Yingi communities in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Saturday’s heavy downpour, meant to bring relief for farmers, instead unleashed havoc, turning what was anticipated as a day of joy into a nightmare.

Eyewitness reports from our correspondent, Joan Davou, depict a scene of destruction, with houses and shops reduced to ruins.

Walls crumbled and roofs caved in under the relentless force of the rain.

Despite the widespread damage, the resilience and solidarity of the affected communities are evident as they begin the arduous task of rebuilding and restoring normalcy.
