The iconic music duo Psquare is embroiled in a fresh dispute that threatens to be even more severe than their previous breakup.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

Insiders report that the trouble began when Peter Okoye, one half of the duo, was approached by a company interested in purchasing Psquare’s music catalog, which includes all their works over the years.

The potential buyers stipulated that they needed to see the statements of account of their catalogue and royalties received to determine a fair price for the catalog.

Peter reportedly relayed the proposal to his twin brother Paul and their elder brother Jude, who has been managing them.

However, after weeks of waiting without receiving the necessary financial statements, Peter grew suspicious and started investigating the delay.

WHAT HE DISCOVERED WAS SHOCKING

Allegedly, funds that should have been credited to Psquare’s account were being diverted to a new company named Northside Music, which had Jude’s wife, Ifeoma, listed as a director.

The registration used her family address. The diverted royalties, dating back to 2007, are said to amount to millions of dollars.

Sources reveal that the EFCC is now involved in the case. Jude has reportedly admitted to the fund diversion, leading to the freezing of his accounts both in Nigeria and internationally.

Paul, who is in support of Jude, has implicated himself as a beneficiary of the diverted funds.

The rift has deepened as Peter has been left out of the royalty-sharing arrangement, which insiders claim was dominated by Jude and Paul.

The tension escalated visibly when the brothers were seen at the EFCC office on Thursday, June 6, 2024, where heated exchanges ensued.

Jude was held in EFCC detention until his recent birthday when former NFF President Amaju Pinnick signed his bail bond, allowing him to celebrate his birthday.

This developing story marks another tumultuous chapter for Psquare, highlighting deep-seated issues that go beyond their musical endeavors.
