Governor Mutfwang Sacks 17 Transition LG Chairmen in Plateau

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, effective from September 6, 2024.

This was confirmed in a statement signed by Gyang Bere, the State Director of Press and Public Affairs.

The committees, initially established on June 9, 2023, were intended to serve for six months, with their terms being extended multiple times until the recent decision.

Governor Mutfwang has directed the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 local government areas to oversee administration until elections are held on October 9, 2024, to fill the vacant positions.

In the statement, the Governor commended the Transition Committee Chairmen for their leadership and commitment to developmental projects that have positively impacted their communities.

He encouraged them to continue supporting peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Plateau State.

Governor Mutfwang also urged the former chairmen to collaborate with their constituents to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming local government elections.

He expressed gratitude to the residents of Plateau State for their continued support, noting that the outcomes of the PDP primaries for chairmanship and councillorship positions reflect the strong connection between the people and the party.

The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to leading an inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration that prioritizes the needs of all Plateau citizens.
