Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, The Executive Governor of Plateau State has pledged his administration’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development, with a particular focus on improving the lives of rural communities across the state.

Governor Mutfwang made this clear during a bilateral meeting with the United Nations Deputy Secretary General, Her Excellency Amina Mohammed, at the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Speaking at the high-level session, Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the majority of Plateau’s population lives in rural areas, and their well-being remains central to his administration’s agenda. By strengthening partnerships with international bodies like the United Nations, the governor aims to position Plateau State as a destination for global investment, leveraging its peaceful environment and unique climate.

He noted that strategic projects already underway are designed to empower local communities and create lasting economic opportunities for the youth and other vulnerable populations.

As part of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Presidential delegation to the event, Governor Mutfwang stressed the importance of his engagement with Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed in deepening Plateau State’s collaboration with the United Nations. A champion of good governance rooted in inclusivity, transparency, and equity, the governor reiterated that his administration is implementing impactful projects designed to transform the lives of Plateau’s citizens. He affirmed that Plateau State is undergoing strategic repositioning, focusing on long-term sustainable development and building trust with its people.

Governor Mutfwang underscored his administration’s inclusive approach to governance, highlighting that individuals from different ethnic groups, including those from outside Plateau State, have been appointed to key government positions. This, he said, ensures better communication of government policies, effective representation, and a truly inclusive leadership structure.

Additionally, Governor Mutfwang praised the global contributions of Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed, commending her ongoing efforts to champion inclusive growth and sustainable development. He acknowledged her positive impact on countless lives through her work at the United Nations and lauded her dedication to creating meaningful change across the globe.
