In the just-concluded Jos South Local Government Area election, Honorable Silas Patrick Dung, the chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), secured an overwhelming victory over candidates from other political parties.
Dung’s triumph comes as a significant boost for the PDP in Plateau State, reaffirming its stronghold in Jos South.
According to the official results announced by Hon. Plangji Daniel Cishak, chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), Silas Patrick Dung of the PDP secured 49,342 votes, outshining his closest rival from the Labour Party (LP), who secured 7,967 votes. The All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed with 7,050 votes, while other parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), recorded minimal support.
