Take-It-Back Movement Warns Tinubu, Says ‘Allow One Protester To Be Shot Or Harmed And You’re Gone From Office’
The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has warned President Bola Tinubu’s government against shooting at Nigerians during the 10-day #EndBadGovernance protest that will kick off on Thursday.
The warning was given in a press statement issued by the group mobilization director, Damilare Adenola on Wednesday.
The group’s statement reads: “We, the Take It Back Movement, issue a final warning to your administration: do not dare attempt to silence our voices with bullets or any weapon because it cannot.
“The blood of our brothers and sisters will not be shed in vain, you have our assurance.
“We vividly remember the atrocities committed in 2020, when the Nigerian government with your connivance in Lagos unleashed terror on peaceful #EndSars protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.
“But let us be clear: Buhari may have temporarily escaped the consequences of his actions, but you will not, President Tinubu.
“We want you to know, your presidency hangs by a thread. The people will not be intimidated, and we will not be silenced. If you give the order to shoot, if you allow one protester to be harmed – by the Nigerian security forces or their affiliate non-state actors- your time in office will come to an abrupt end.
“We are not just protesters, we are the generation seeking a new order, a revolution. We are the change that Nigeria needs. And we will not be stopped.
“To the security agencies, we say: refuse to follow unlawful orders. Stand with the people, not against the people.
“To the Nigerian people, we say: rise up! Join us in this fight for our future. Together, we can bring down the walls of oppression and build a new Nigeria.”
“President Tinubu, the choice is yours. Choose wisely,” the group added.
