    The journey towards revamping and reviving the historic Jos Hill Station Hotel has officially begun, as Hillside Hospitality Limited hosted a landmark Hill Station Legacy Stakeholders Engagement.

    The event, held in Jos, Plateau State, provided a comprehensive overview of the hotel’s transformation, unveiling a new design vision aimed at repositioning the iconic establishment as a premier hospitality destination in Nigeria.

    Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, remains committed to his administration’s promise of infrastructural development and the repositioning of Plateau State as a major tourism hub in Nigeria. Through a strategic partnership between the Plateau State Government, Plateau Investment and Property Company (PIPC), and Hillside Hospitality Limited, led by Strom infrastructure investment and management limited—an ambitious ₦8.5 billion investment has been set in motion to revitalize the Hill Station Hotel.

    This transformative initiative is expected to redefine the hospitality landscape of Plateau State, driving tourism, economic growth, and job creation in Jos. The project aims to harness the state’s rich tourism potential while attracting local and international visitors to the region.

    Speaking at the event, Director of Hillside Hospitality Limited, Hakeem Condotti, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Over the years, Hillside Hospitality has built a strong reputation for excellence by leveraging strategic partnerships and industry expertise to execute high-impact projects.

    Condotti noted that the company’s involvement in the Hill Station project stems from a deep-seated commitment to preserving and enhancing historical landmarks. Strom Infrastructure, having played a key role in the revitalization of NESCO Nigeria, was selected as the concessionaire for this initiative. The official agreement was sealed with the signing of the Head of Terms in July 2024, marking the beginning of a strategic journey to reposition Hill Station Hotel as a world-class resort.

    Hillside Hospitality has collaborated with BLK Hut Media, a company known for revitalizing brands and assets with untapped potential. Notably, BLK Hut Media successfully relaunched the popular “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Nigeria” brand, reinstating its prominence across the country. With 14 years of professional experience in the hospitality sector, Hillside Hospitality brings a wealth of knowledge in managing travel, logistics, and brand experiences for major companies like Guinness, Plan Meals, and MTN.

    Combining expertise and a strong network of collaborations, Hillside Hospitality is dedicated to ensuring the successful restoration and transformation of Hill Station Hotel into the Hill Station Resort. This initiative is poised to restore the pride of Jos, Plateau State, and Nigeria at large, positioning the region as a top-tier tourism and hospitality destination in West Africa.

    The redevelopment of the Hill Station Resort is set to commence on March 1, 2025. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by December 2025, with full project completion slated for 2027.

    Governor Mutfwang, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Arch. Samuel Jatau, reaffirmed the administration’s support for the project. He emphasized the need for a modern, world-class facility that meets global hospitality standards. The governor expressed optimism that the redevelopment of Hill Station will serve as a catalyst for unlocking Plateau’s vast tourism potential, attracting visitors from across the world and stimulating economic activities within the state.

    Jatau further highlighted that tourism development is a key component of the governor’s economic vision, which aims to enhance infrastructure, improve public services, and create sustainable job opportunities. He stressed the importance of local content and inclusion in the project, ensuring that Plateau’s workforce and businesses benefit from the venture.

    “We have young people eager to learn and grow in this sector. As part of our agreement with Hillside Hospitality, we have outlined specific measures to ensure local participation. This includes opportunities in transport, restaurants, and other ancillary services that will emerge as the resort comes to life,” Jatau stated.

Speaking as a Hillside Hospitality Director, he emphasized that this endeavor goes beyond mere revitalization—it is a dedicated effort to honor Hill Station’s rich heritage while introducing world-class hospitality standards.

    The event was attended by key government officials, members of the state executive council, representatives from PIPC, and other critical stakeholders, who also toured the existing facility to assess its current state and appreciate the scale of the planned transformation.

At the heart of this transformation is Hillside Hospitality Limited, which recently hosted a Hill Station Legacy Stakeholders Engagement event in Jos, Plateau State, to unveil its comprehensive design vision for the hotel’s rebirth.

    In collaboration with the Plateau State Government, the Plateau Investment and Property Company (PIPC), and Strom Infrastructure Investment and Management Limited, the project is set to redefine the hospitality landscape of Plateau State, with a focus on driving tourism, economic growth, and job creation in Jos.
