In a monumental stride towards wildlife conservation and habitat protection, contracts have been signed to commence the perimeter fencing of Jos Wildlife Park.
This significant project, covering a total of 16.7 kilometers, has been awarded to three reputable firms: RRC Construction Nigeria LTD, Seven West Construction, and Lashgdom Nigeria LTD. The ambitious project is set to be completed within ten months.
The contract signing ceremony, held yesterday at the Plateau State ACReSAL Project office in Jos, was a noteworthy event attended by key stakeholders and representatives from the contracted companies. This landmark initiative marks a major step forward in the efforts to safeguard the park’s diverse ecosystem.
“The primary goal of this fencing project is to mitigate human-wildlife conflict and prevent illegal encroachments, illegal mining, and unauthorized tree felling,” stated a spokesperson from the Plateau State ACReSAL Project. “We are committed to ensuring the sustainable conservation of this protected area.”
The perimeter fencing will serve as a critical barrier, not only protecting the wildlife from external threats but also ensuring the safety of the local communities. By preventing illegal activities within the park, this project will help maintain the ecological balance and promote biodiversity.
With the contracts now officially signed, RRC Construction Nigeria LTD, Seven West Construction, and Lashgdom Nigeria LTD are set to mobilize their resources and commence work immediately. The successful completion of this project will stand as a testament to the collective effort to preserve Nigeria’s natural heritage.
As the project kicks off, all eyes will be on Jos Wildlife Park, anticipating the positive impacts this initiative will bring to both the environment and the local community.
