A middle-aged man, known as “Mosquito,” was killed in a violent clash between rival cults in Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The man, identified as a member of the Aye confraternity, was found dead with machete and gunshot wounds, and his left hand had been severed and taken away.

The Ogun State Police Command revealed in a statement that they received a distress call on August 11, 2024, at around 11:40 p.m., reporting a confrontation between cultists along Ijagun Road.

The Divisional Police Officer dispatched a team to the scene, where they found the victim lying in a pool of blood and discovered six expended cartridges.

The police evacuated the body and transferred it to Ijebu Ode State Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This incident is one of three similar killings recently reported in the state, according to Playloaded.
