Speaking at the 2025 Executive Retreat held in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area, the governor addressed commissioners, permanent secretaries, special advisers, and other government officials, emphasising the urgency of fulfilling their responsibilities.
The governor made it clear that apart from himself and the Deputy Governor, no appointee has a guaranteed position, underscoring the need for selfless service and accountability.
“There is no time for selfishness because our mission is to collectively drive societal progress. The era of working individually and amassing power for oneself is over,” he stated.
Governor Mutfwang urged officials to make meaningful contributions, regardless of the duration of their postings. “Even if you are posted to a ministry for three months, make a difference,” he charged.
While acknowledging the importance of loyalty, he stressed that loyalty to God and a clear conscience should be paramount. “Yes, it is good to be loyal to me, but from this moment on, your loyalty should shift to the God of heaven,” he emphasised.
The governor called for unsupervised dedication, urging officials to act swiftly in response to the suffering and poverty faced by the people of Plateau State. “Our people are dying, suffering, and living in poverty. They have given us their trust to improve their situation. We can’t wait any longer; the time to make a difference is now,” he declared.
Governor Mutfwang concluded by urging his appointees to work diligently, stretch their capabilities, and provide solutions to the state’s challenges, saying, “May we not fail.”
