Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has formally launched a Federal Fire Service-donated Rapid Response Firefighting Vehicle. The purpose of this donation is to improve the state’s ability to combat fires and deal with the difficulties that arise from them.
Governor Mutfwang lauded the Federal Fire Service Director General for his vital service during the ceremony held at Government House Rayfield, Jos. He reaffirmed his promise to continue offering assistance in order to improve the efficiency of state firefighting operations.
Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the importance of this gesture and stressed how the Federal Fire Service’s support aligns with his administration’s goal of raising the state’s firefighting services to the highest national standards.
“This generous donation serves as a catalyst for our comprehensive review of firefighting mechanisms across the state. We are steadfast in our resolve to elevate and sustain the standards of our firefighting department through increased funding, advanced training, and modern equipment,” he affirmed.
According to Mr. Tanfa Bonkat, the state’s acting controller of the Federal Fire Service, Plateau State is one of the fifteen states chosen nationally to acquire this cutting-edge firefighting vehicle. He described the possibilities of the car, which has a 500-liter water tank and a 10-liter chemical tank, among other contemporary features.
In addition to highlighting the vehicle’s versatility across a range of terrains, Bonkat revealed plans for its strategic placement in high-risk regions that are vulnerable to wildfires.
