The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Cynthia Aigbondon, a middle-aged woman, for allegedly stabbing her neighbor to death.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the arrest was confirmed in an interview with NAN on Tuesday.

Hundeyin stated that the deceased’s husband, Lukmon Adio, reported the incident at the Ajegunle Police Division around 9:48 pm on Sunday.

The police spokesperson explained that the late Bakarat, Adio’s wife, had a minor altercation with the suspect while fetching water from a public tap near their residence.

This disagreement purportedly led to the suspect stabbing Bakarat with a kitchen knife on the left side of her ribs. Bakarat was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by attending doctors.

Hundeyin further mentioned that the police had visited the crime scene, collected evidence, and taken photographs. The deceased’s body was deposited at the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
