An employee of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company, (JEDC), was on Thursday allegedly electrocuted while carrying out repairs in the Abbatoir area of Jos South Local government council of Plateau state.

Our correspondent gathered that the deceased simply identified as Friday was electrocuted while fixing a fault in the Abbatoir community of the state city.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source from Jos Electricity Company disclosed that the deceased met his untimely death when electricity was suddenly restored to the high tension pole on which he was working.

Several sources from the Electricity Company said the late Friday was very committed to his Job and always responds to calls from concerned customers when ever there is a fault in the areas he covers.

A member of Abbatoir community who spoke to newsmen lamented the incident saying that the late JED worker was so hard working and commited to his duties .

“we know him as a JEDC staff all these years until the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday afternoon,” the source said .

” He was a committed to his duties and always willing to deliver on his mandate for the company and the customers of the Jos Electricity Company .”

Efforts to reach the JEDC’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Elijah Adakole was abortive at the time of sending this report.

It was gathered that the Late Staff of the company hails from Bassa Local Government Council of Plateau state.
