Tinubu Appoints Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda to Lead Prestigious Euro-African Dialogue

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, as the chair of the Rabat Process, a leading Euro-African Dialogue on Immigration and Development.

    This international body comprising of over 60 member countries across Europe and Africa, established promote dialogue on migration and development between Africa and Europe, plays a crucial role in addressing key issues such as irregular migration, human trafficking, and sustainable development.

    In a previous statement, Professor Nentawe emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to addressing migration issues affecting young Nigerians, particularly the rise of the “JAPA Syndrome,” where many youths seek opportunities abroad. He reiterated the government’s focus on championing ambitious programs aimed at youth inclusiveness and tackling migration trends.

    Professor Nentawe’s appointment highlights his leadership and dedication to fostering partnerships for sustainable development. His expertise is expected to enhance collaboration between Africa and Europe, addressing pressing challenges related to migration and promoting solutions beneficial to both continents.
