Following widespread outrage over his remarks stereotyping Plateau men as drunkards, popular media personality Ahmed Isah of the Brekete Family has issued a heartfelt apology to the people of Plateau State.

The apology comes in response to strong reactions from prominent citizens, including Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok, the Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization and Engagement to the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other concerned residents.

In his statement, Ahmed Isah expressed regret for his controversial comments, acknowledging that they had provoked anger and frustration among Plateau citizens. He explained that his intention was to prompt action against wrongdoers, but he admitted that his delivery was inappropriate and offensive.

“Wetin make I dey talk somethings like that na make the good people, make the thing pain them, so that dey go concentrate on wrong people make them do the right thing. But I want to use this medium to apologize. Please, I am sorry, everybody for Plateau is good. Nobody is irresponsible. Abeg I am sorry, I am very sorry,” he stated.

Ahmed Isah went on to acknowledge the reactions of many Plateau citizens who were displeased by his remarks, clarifying that his intention was to encourage general improvement, not to disrespect the state’s people. “Say many people provoke, say dem no like the way I talk am. And me na because I want general improvement na him make I talk am,” he explained.

Furthermore, he offered a direct apology to all Plateau residents, both men and women, with a special focus on the men he had unfairly singled out in his earlier comments: “I am sorry to all the Josites both men and women, most especially the men wey I take do example.”

The apology has been widely anticipated, following calls from various leaders and citizens who condemned the initial remarks as harmful and offensive.
