Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the enforcement of Executive Order 003, a key directive aimed at reorganizing the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis and restoring law and order throughout the state.
In a recent statement issued by Mr Gyang Bere, the director of press and public affairs contained that the Governor emphasized the ongoing importance of the order, countering rumors that it had been suspended.
Governor Mutfwang clarified that the Executive Order is still in full effect and will continue to be strictly enforced, particularly in managing the use of buildings and vehicular traffic within the Jos-Bukuru Metropolis. He warned that any illegal markets, businesses, or structures cleared by the Task Force enforcing the order must remain closed, stressing that any attempt to return to these areas would be a “flagrant violation” met with strict penalties.
The Governor’s message underscores the broader objectives of the order: to prevent Jos from “deteriorating into a slum and a breeding ground for criminal activities.” He further highlighted ongoing efforts to begin constructing community markets, creating a conducive environment for lawful businesses to thrive.
Governor Mutfwang also appealed to citizens to support the urban renewal initiatives led by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) and the Task Force, urging them to respect and adhere to the order. His administration remains determined to work hand-in-hand with law-abiding citizens from all walks of life to promote peace and unity across Plateau State.
