The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly demanded an immediate reversal of the recent hike in petrol pump prices by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

As ongoing fuel scarcity across the country deepens, the NNPCL increased petrol prices from 568 naira to between 855 naira and 897 naira per litre, depending on the location.

NLC President Joe Ajaero has condemned the price hike, accusing the Federal Government of betraying the labour movement and neglecting the impact of the increase on Nigerians.

Ajaero called for urgent action to reverse the price hike, expressing concerns about the additional strain it would place on citizens already struggling to feed.
