The Plateau State Police Command is pleased to announce the successful apprehension of two phone snatchers in Rayfield, Jos South Local Government Area.

Today being the 30th day of August 2024 at about 5pm, one Bello Mohammed, 26 years old and Yusuf Ibrahim, 20 years old, both male of Mai-Adiko village forcibly snatched a mobile phone belonging to one Mrs Dorcas around Rayfield, Jos. Further investigation have revealed that the suspects are known for the use of motorcycles to snatch valuables from unsuspecting individuals. The suspects were however arrested by some good citizens of Rayfield area and handed over to the Police at the Anglo-Jos division.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, psc wishes to extend his gratitude to the law-abiding and vigilant residents of Rayfield for their invaluable assistance in the swift arrest of these perpetrators. Their cooperation and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the community is commendable.

The Plateau State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to upholding law and order within the State. He therefore wishes to send a stern warning to all individuals engaged in nefarious activities to desist from such criminal behavior, as the Police will not hesitate to deal with those who choose to engage in such criminal acts.

The suspects are currently in our custody and will be prosecuted in accordance with the extant laws.
